BSA SPRING ASSEMBLY
Theme: Social Activities for Health
Date: Wednesday 29th May 2019 from 10am to 2:15pm
Location: Woodhouse College, Woodhouse Road, North Finchley, London N12 9EY.
Our theme for this Assembly will be Social Activities for Health.
The programme for the day will include a welcome from the BSA Chair Nila Patel and opening by the Mayor Designate.
Our first main speaker is Dr Charlotte Benjamin, Chair of Barnet CCG who’s topic will be Social Prescribing.
Social prescribing is a way of linking patients in primary care with sources of support within the community. It provides GPs with a non-medical referral option too.
10:00 – 10:45 Registration, Refreshments and Stalls.
10:45 – 10:50 Welcome and Introductions – BSA Chair – Nila Patel.
10:50 – 10:55 Opening of the Assembly by The Mayor Designate.
11:00 – 11:40 Social Prescribing. Dr Charlotte Benjamin, Chair of CCG.
11:40 – 11:55 Movement to music.
12:00 – 12:30 Priorities in delivering better healthcare for older people – the perspective of healthcare professionals. Sarah Mistry, CEO, Geriatrics Society.
12:30 – 13:30 Complementary light lunch. Networking & browsing as well as opportunities to sign up for events.
13:30 – 13:40 Social Integration. Penny Gluckstein, Millway Medical Practice.
13:40 – 13:50 Barnet Connect. Jenny Jean-Charles.
13:50 – 14:10 What’s New in Health & Wellbeing? Followed by Raffle. Peter Cragg, BSA.
14:10 – 14:15 Chair’s closing comments. Nila Patel, Chair of BSA.
